1. Where/how can I buy Ballakelly Farm pork, beef and lamb?

You can take your pick of our home-butchered fresh and frozen meats at our Family Farm Shop at Ballakelly Farm, Kiondroghad Road, Andreas on Saturdays* between 10.00am and 4.00pm – cash and card payments accepted.

(*Unless we are at an event – please check our Facebook page (before visiting).

Alternatively, please visit our online shop to place your meat order and pre-pay.

You can then collect your meat from Ballakelly Farm, or we can deliver it to you (subject to conditions – see Answer 2).

You’ll also find us serving up our fresh meats and delicious, hot meat-filled baps at key public and private events in the Isle of Man.

2. Do you deliver?

For larger (£50+) and regular orders, with convenient delivery locations, we will be happy to discuss delivery options/times with you.

For smaller orders (<£50), unless we’re already delivering to your area, at the moment we generally don’t offer a delivery service.

Please do let us know what you need though and we’ll see what we can do.

3. Can I place an order for a special event?

Yes, please contact us ASAP to place your special event meat order (via phone, email, Facebook or our online shop) and pre-pay.

You can then collect your meat from Ballakelly Farm, or we can deliver it to you (subject to conditions – see Answer 2).

4. Can I place a regular ‘meat box’ order?

Yes, we would be delighted if you would like to order a regular ‘meat box’ from Ballakelly Farm – be it daily, weekly, monthly – or whatever suits you.

5. How can I pay?

Full payment is required upfront please.

We accept payment via cash, cheque, bank transfer or card.

7. What is your full produce range and price list?

Ballakelly Farm produces 100% Manx Pork, Beef and Lamb.

We can supply sausages, burgers, bacon, the full range of meat cuts (including whole beasts) and hog roasts for events.

8. Why is some of the food I’ve collected/received frozen?

Given that Ballakelly Farm is currently a small family farm food outlet ( – with big ambitions!), it is not possible for us to have our full range of produce available ‘fresh’ on a daily basis.

We do batches of butchering and sausage/burger making at the weekends and in advance of us catering at public and private events – so to buy our freshest cuts, please visit our farm shop in Andreas on a Saturday (see answer 1), or come and find us at the various events we are attending this year.

Any meats that we don’t sell during a particular weekend or event are kept refrigerated and then frozen down ASAP to be sold from our freezer section.

Given that most of our customers buy Ballakelly Farm meat in bulk and then freeze it when they get home, they don’t mind receiving it frozen.

If there is a particular cut of meat, or flavours of sausages/burgers, that you would like to receive fresh for a particular date or special event, please get in touch in advance and we’ll see what we can do for you.

9. Where can I choose Ballakelly Meat on the menu?

You can currently find the Ballakelly Farm pork, beef or lamb on the menu at:

Our dream is that Ballakelly Farm meat will appear on more and more ‘Specials Boards’ throughout the Isle of Man and that our customers will ask for it by name… so please do!

10. Can Ballakelly supply meat to my shop/ restaurant/ café/ hotel?

Yes, subject to conditions. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

11. Does Ballakelly Farm sell gluten free sausages?

Not yet, but we aim to! We’ve just placed our first order for gluten free rusk and will be seeking taste testers soon!

If you’re interested in trialling our gluten free products, please get in touch and provide your contact details.

12. How is the quality of Ballakelly Farm’s produce verified?

In addition to the hard work of our Meat Heroes and feedback from our customers, Ballakelly Farm is ‘Farm Assured’ by Red Tractor Assurance – these are independent experts who regularly check how our food is farmed and prepared to make sure it is a good standard.

Our ‘cutting room’, meat handling processes and catering facilities are inspected and signed off by the Isle of Man’s Health and Hygiene Inspector.

We receive regular guidance and advice from the Island’s Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA) and in particular from Andrew Lees, DEFA’s Food Business Development Manager.

13. Has Ballakelly Farm won any awards?

Our Family Farm won a number of awards at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show in August 2016 including:

  • Best Livestock and Cropped Farm Over 200 Acres
  • Best Crop of Winter Barley
  • Meg Lambs (Smaller)

We received the award for the second Best Display Stand at the Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival in September 2016.

14. Is Ballakelly Farm certified to be a food business and outside caterer?

Yes of course! Ballakelly Farm has the following registrations/ certifications:

  • Registered food premises – registration number 1022
  • Registered mobile food premises – registration number M271
  • Alan (the Farmer) and Rachel (the Farmer’s Wife) are qualified to the ‘Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering’ from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
  • We routinely receive safety inspection certificates for our electrical, gas and fire safety equipment
  • We hold public and product liability insurance to the limit of £5 million
