Hello, I’m Callum Staley, friends with Al and Rachel, who designs & manages the Ballakelly Farm Website & Social Media! Al & Rach have asked me to do a guest blog for them this week as they are very busy on the farm after a couple of weeks away.
I am in the second year of my Applied Computing Degree and have a Photography, Aerial Photography, Videography & Website Design business. I have known Rachel for many years through having a horse.
When Al & Rachel decided to start selling meat independently I approached Rachel about creating a website for them. What initially was a small website and business has turned into something quite big really and we have more plans for the website in the future.
We are looking at adding the following:
- Meat the Meat Heroes Page
- Events Page so that it is easier for you to find us at events or see if the farm shop is going to be open.
- A larger Gallery Page with the option for the customer’s to be able to upload their photographs from when they visit the farm and purchase meat.
Any suggestions or feedback on the website or Social Media would be greatly appreciated.
I have attended many events which Ballakelly have been at and was amazed at the community feeling & spirit that all of the food and drink companies create between each other. Since I have been working with Ballakelly (2014) they have collaborated with Kurries & Steaks, Robinsons Brewery, The Stars Group, The Corrin Boys (Veg), Close Leece, Wendy & Paul Crocker, Zurich, Brad’s Veg, Dave’s Delicious Dogs, MANXPies, The Alpine and many more!
I really enjoy working with Alan, Rachel and the rest of the meat heroes on the farm and hope to do so for many more years! Below are some photographs I took on holiday of the meat at the markets (a little different to the Isle of Man!!)
