Hi guys I hope you are all OK, big smelly farm hugs from me and the team.
Wow!! What a world we are currently living in, I am a key worker!
Not much has change for me, I don’t like to leave the farm so it has suited me to stay home, Harvey loves social distancing and wearing his noo noo jarmies, Tinky has been cartwheeling herself about the farm helping me, but best of all Rach has started cooking!
Lambing is all over – the less said about it the better – it has been the worst lambing I have ever experience in over 30 years of lambing sheep at Ballakelly – not going into it but if you get a grumpy response when you try to chat (over a phone) this is why!
Spring is here and we are well underway with the field work, thanks to Geoff & the boys. Nice to see sunshine but we need rain now, so get out in your gardens and do a rain dance please.
Don’t want to talk about the virus did that for the paper, have a skeet here
Main reason for the blog is I need your feedback on deliveries and food parcels. Please could you give us feedback, below. Both positive and negative, but all constructive please.
In an ideal world what would you like for the next month? Then we can see what we can do to try to achieve it.
We can’t offer all our products to everyone as we don’t have the infrastructure for the volume.
We don’t want to hike all our prices up, but we can’t afford to feed the island at a cost to Ballakelly.
Veggies and Eggs have ran out for the short term so we are waiting for the new season crops and the hens to catch up!
Bread we can do both Ross Bakery and Ramsey?
I look forward to your input
Al
PS on the extras items next week I will introduce ‘farmer al’s mystery meat treat’, you guys have to guess the meat, cook an amazing Manx dish, photograph it, post on the FB page to be entered in a competition to win a Food Parcel!!
